I was applying for a cooperative work position at a children’s science museum. It was a panel interview with 3 of the people who do the fun science demonstrations where they clown around, make stuff explode, and use audience members as part of their jokes.
They asked me to do a demonstration on states of matter and as I was explaining how gasses expand under heat so that there was space between the molecules, they demanded to know what the space between molecules was called. I just blurted out, “Well, you should know them, that one is Barb, that’s Edward, this one is Jenny, know your spaces!” and carried on as if they didn’t ask. They loved it, perhaps one of the dumbest pieces of a joke I’d ever made up on the spot. Got the job, still friends with my boss from the late ’90s to this day. © yummy_c**p_brick / reddit
